About us
Hengstenhouderij van Nunen is run by Dester van Nunen and Noa van den Langenberg and has developed over the past years into a successful stallion station. The station is an approved EU station for the shipment of fresh semen within Europe. In addition, we continue to offer mare management at our facility.
We are passionate breeders ourselves, and from this enthusiasm, we aim to give breeders from the Netherlands and abroad the opportunity to breed with the best stallions. Our goal is to offer interesting stallions for breeding each season. We strive for the highest standards: the stallion’s own performance must speak for itself, the pedigree must be exceptional, and preferably the stallion already has ridden or approved offspring.
Clear communication with mare owners is essential to us, and we ensure they are kept fully informed throughout the entire process.
Thanks to collaborations with stallion owners abroad, we have been able to offer a number of high-quality stallions at our station over the past years, of which we are very proud.

History
Hengstenhouderij van Nunen was founded in 2019 out of a passion for breeding. The foundation was laid back in 2017, when the unique opportunity arose to offer the stallion Tigull frá Kleiva for breeding. The success of this led to the official establishment of Hengstenhouderij van Nunen at our current location in Boxtel.
In the years that followed, we have continuously grown alongside developments in the breeding. While we initially offered only natural coverings, we later expanded our services to include artificial insemination (AI). The advantages of AI prompted us to invest in 2023 in the construction of our own international stallion station.
Our station has been fully developed in accordance with current European laws and regulations and meets all requirements of an approved EU stallion station for international semen shipment.

Accommodation
Our facility is located in Boxtel, in the south of the Netherlands. Hengstenhouderij van Nunen borders the beautiful nature reserve ´de Kampina´ and is just ten minutes from Oirschot, known for hosting multiple World Championships. Additionally, both the German and Belgian borders are within an hour’s reach.
We have a variety of stables, (covered) paddocks, and pastures. Every day, we strive to provide the horses with the highest standard of care, always prioritizing their health, well-being, and calm environment.
Our grounds also feature a fully licensed international stallion station. The stallions are housed in a separate stable building, each with a spacious individual stable. The station includes a professional covering area with laboratory facilities and complies with all current European regulations.
